Micro Cassette or Cassette are magnetic tape format for recording and playback of audio, launched peka Philips in 1962. The cassettes existed in two formats, one containing an original recording, another that was a totally empty cassette ready to record any content.

C8-track cartridge consists of an audio recording technology on magnetic tape, very popular between the 60s and 70s, until the Cassette format entered the market.

Micro-Cassette is an audio recording medium released by Olympus in 1969. It uses the same tape width as the normal Cassette but with much smaller length.

Vinyl - Launched by Columbia Records in 1948, Vinyl LP soon became the new standard for the entire record industry. Despite the small refinements required and the important inclusion of stereo sound, it remained the great format for musical albums.

DAT (Digital Audio Tape) is a recording and playback medium released by Sony in 1987. Similar to the Cassette, it uses 4mm magnetic tape protected in a protective layer. As the name suggests, the recording is digital rather than analog. DAT has the ability to record at different sampling rates (32, 44.1 and 48 Khz) and with a 16 bit quantization.

Mini-Disc is a data recording disc that combines magnetic and optical technology. It offers a 74-minute recording capacity, and later reaches 80 minutes of digital audio recording or one GB of Hi-MD data. Mini-Disc players remained on the market until March 2013.

Magnetic tape reel is a form of audio tape recording wherein the recording medium is wound on a reel, rather than contained in a cassette. The popular formats are ¼ inch, half inch and one inch.
